Lions in District 105A organise parties for our senior citizens at Harrow Leisure Centre, with over 1,000 attending. For the children Lions organise day outings including our annual trip to Chessington Zoo.
For our youth we have various competitions and activities such as the Lions Youth Football, music, peace poster and young ambassador.
The LEOS programme is aimed at the younger members of our community who are service mined to help with the needs of their local. National and International community. Lions serve internationally through 1.4 million Lions members in 193 countries and geographic areas. Lions answer the needs that challenge the communities of the world. Lions tackle tough problems like blindness, water shortage and drug abuse. Lions also contribute to the prevention and care of illness and with diabetes awareness. Lions - men and women - provide immediate and sustained relief in time of disaster and offer long-term assistance to those in need. Lions collect and recycle eyeglasses for distribution in developing countries and treat millions of people to prevent river blindness.
Lions improve the quality of life in their local communities by building parks, supporting hospitals and establishing water treatment programs. For over 85 years, whenever there is a need at home or around the world, Lions members are there to help. Our motto says it all "We Serve". It comprises the boroughs of Greater London, north of the river Thames, and the counties of Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire, but excluding two clubs - Henley-on-Thames and Goring, Woodcote and District and Burnham clubs.
